Winchester Gas Station Robbery

On October 25th, at approximately 5:25pm a male black and a light skinned male black entered the FasMart Gas Station located off of I-64 in Clark County.  One of the suspects began speaking with the cashier as a distraction while the other went behind the counter when the cash registry door opens.  He then stuck what the cashier believed to be a handgun into the cashier’s lower back.  He then reached out and grabbed an undisclosed amount of cash out of the register.  Both suspects then fled in a light blue colored Chrysler 200.

Vine Street Car Break In

IN THE EARLY MORNING HOURS OF AUGUST 12TH, A VICTIM DISCOVERED HER CAR HAD BEEN BROKEN IN TO WHILE PARKED DOWNTOWN IN FRONT OF 110 W VINE STREET.  SURVEILLANCE CAMERAS NEARBY CAPTURED IMAGES OF THE SUSPECTS.  THEY SMASHED HER PASSENGER REAR WINDOW AND STOLE A RED CHANEL HANDBAG, MACBOOK COMPUTER, APPLE WATCH, AND PERSONAL LUGGAGE.

Devonport Drive Homicide

STATUS: OPEN

On October 3, 2024, around 9:30 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 2200 block of Devonport Drive for a shooting with two victims. When officers arrived, they located two male victims outside with a gunshot wound. The victims were transported to a local hospital, one victim had reported life-threatening injuries and one victim had reported non-life-threatening injuries.

 

On October 15, Juan Angel Martinez-Bustos succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased by the Fayette County Coroner.

Legend's Lane Robbery

On July 18, 2024, Lexington Police responded to the 200 block of Legends Lane in reference to a Robbery. The victim advised the suspect entered the store and after selecting multiple items began concealing them in a trash bag. The victim confronted the suspect as he attempted to exit the store. The suspect then pulled a knife and began waving it in the direction of the victim while saying “back up”.  The suspect then fled the store on foot.

Speedway Robbery

The Bluegrass Crime Stopper Crime of the Week is Robbery 1st Degree. On October 31. 2023 at 1:12 a.m., the Lexington Police department was dispatched to Speedway at 515 Euclid Avenue in reference to a hold up alarm. The victim advised the suspect entered the store with what appeared to be a pistol in his right hand and demanded money. The suspect then struck the victim in the head, removed the money from the register drawer and fled on foot towards Kentucky Avenue. The suspect is described as a male, possibly in his 20’s with a middle eastern accent wearing black pants, a black mask and a zip up hooded sweatshirt with a diamond Aztec type pattern in green.

Chinoe Burglary 1st Degree

STATUS: OPEN

The Bluegrass Crime Stopper Crime of the Week is Burglary 1st Degree as well as Theft by Unlawful Taking-Vehicle. On November 27, the Lexington Police Department was dispatched to a residence on Chinoe Road in reference to a Burglary. The victim advised sometime during the night subjects entered his vehicle and used the garage door opener to enter his garage. While in the garage they entered a second vehicle and removed a firearm. Detectives where able to locate video showing the burglary suspects in the neighborhood checking door handles of vehicles prior to the burglary. The vehicle the suspects are operating was also found to be stolen. During the course of the investigation it has been determined a second stolen vehicle is related to this case.

Crime of the Week Robbery 1st Degree and Burglary 1st Degree

The Bluegrass Crime Stopper Crime of the Week is Robbery 1st Degree and Burglary 1st Degree. The first incident occurred on November 3, at 9:45 p.m., at Los Hermanos Supermarket located at 1511 Russell Cave  Road. The victim advised three males entered the store and displayed firearms while demanding money from the cash register. The suspects then fled the store. On November 8, at 8:30p.m., Lexington Police were dispatched to the 1800 block of Gerald Drive, reference a Burglary. Officers determined that two separate apartments had been burglarized. The occupants of the first apartment stated that a containing three male Hispanic suspects had followed the victim home. The three suspects got him out of his vehicle at gunpoint and instructed him to knock on all four doors of the building to get the occupants to open the doors. Two suspects entered one apartment and stole four phones at gunpoint. The suspects then entered a second apartment, stealing cash and two cell phones. Detectives confirmed the Robbery and Burglary have one of the same suspects in common.
