On February 21st of this year, a large man entered the Red Roof Inn and robbed the front desk clerk with a knife.  He had come in earlier in the day and asked about a room and returned later to rob her.  He is described as 6` 300lbs, possibly glasses and scruffy beard.  He was wearing a blue hoodie and khaki pants and escaped in a tan car with a sun roof.

Centenary Church Burglary

On May 5th just after midnight, this subject entered the Centenary Church located at 2800 Tates Creek Rd with a stolen key card and took cash, gift cards, and other valuable items.  Lexington Police are doing everything we can to get this person identified and brought to justice.

Trailer Thefts
May 24, 2016

On May 1st just after 8am, this truck is seen pulling into a secured lot located at 5801 Kingpost Ct off of Blue Sky Pkwy near the interstate in Fayette County.  The suspect is seen on camera hitching up to a 24` flat bed utility trailer and towing it away.  The trailer is valued at $3,500.  The suspect vehicle is described as black GMC extended cab pickup with white signs on both sides.  There have been several other thefts this same suspect is responsible for.

There is a $10,000 reward being offered for information leading to an arrest in this case. On April 18th, a subject attempted to rob the Peoples Exchange Bank on Richmond Rd. After an unsuccessful attempt, he then robbed the 5/3 Bank on Bryan Station Road. A red dye pack exploded as he fled. He was spotted driving a green Kia Sorento. Shell Station Robbery

ON APRIL 6TH AT 9:35PM A SUSPECT ENTERED THE SHELL STATION LOCATED AT 435 W NEW CIRCLE RD WITH HIS FACE COVERED IN A BLACK BANDANA AND IMPLYING A FIREARM INSIDE HIS SHIRT.  HE WAS WEARING A GRAY UNIVERSITY OF KENTUCKY HOODED SWEATSHIRT AND KHAKI PANTS.  HE WENT BEHIND THE COUNTER AND ORDERED THE CLERK TO OPEN THE SAFE WHICH SHE WAS UNABLE TO DO.  HE THEN STOLE ALL OF THE CASH FROM THE REGISTER AND FLED THE AREA ON FOOT.  THE SUSPECT IS DESCRIBED AS MALE BLACK, 20S, 5’8” 150LBS AND POSSIBLY A LOCAL TO THE AREA.

Identity Theft Case

The suspect in the this case is seen here using a stolen identification from one victim to cash 4 stolen checks from a second victim.  The ID was taken in a theft from a vehicle and the second elderly victim sustained a financial los of well over $1,000.  Sadly, she passed away just two weeks after the crime.  It is our hope to identify the suspect to get justice for everyone involved.

Pepsi Delivery Driver Robbery

ON MARCH 18TH AT 7:00AM A PEPSI DELIVERY DRIVER REPORTED HE WAS IN THE PROCESS OF SERVICING A PEPSI MACHINE AT 208 LEGENDS LANE WHEN A MALE BLACK IN HIS 20S APPROACHED HIM FROM BEHIND AND ROBBED HIM OF THE VENDING MACHINE CASH AS WELL AS HIS KEYS.  THE STOLEN KEYS WERE SUBSEQUENTLY USED ON MULTIPLE OCCASSIONS TO STEAL CASH FROM ANOTHER PEPSI MACHINE.  THIS SUSPECT WAS CAPTURED ON SURVEILLANCE VIDEO AT THE CLARION HOTEL ON NEWTOWN PIKE.

Dixie Mart Attempted Robbery

JUST AFTER 8PM, A SUSPECT ENTERED THE DIXIE MART LOCATED AT 1875 AUGUSTA DRIVE AND HANDED A LETTER TO THE CLERK DEMANDING CASH FROM THE REGISTER.  THERE WERE OTHER CUSTOMERS NEARBY SO SHE SPOKE LOUDLY AND SHE REPEATEDLY ADVISED HIM HE DIDN’T WANT TO DO THIS.  THE SUSPECT THREATENED HER AND EVENTUALLY FLED VOWING TO RETURN.

Social Media Scammer

SEVERAL LEXINGTON RESIDENTS HAVE REPORTED BEING SOLICITED ON SOCIAL MEDIA IN A SCAM TO MAKE QUICK MONEY.  THE VICTIMS HAVE PROVIDED THE SUSPECT WITH THEIR ACCOUNT INFORMATION.  THE SUSPECT DEPOSITS COUNTERFEIT CHECKS INTO THE ACCOUNT TO INFLATE THE BALANCE AND THEN QUICKLY MAKES TRANSACTION WITHDRAWALS BEFORE THE BANKS CONFIRM THE CHECKS ARE FRAUDULENT.  ULTIMATELY, THE VICTIMS AND THE BANKS ARE PAYING THE PRICE.  THE SUSPECT IS DRIVING A WHITE NISSAN WITH FLORIDA TAGS.

HE PRESENTED A GUN AND DEMANDED ALL OF THE CASH.  UNFORTUNATELY FOR THE SUSPECT, HE FORGOT TO CHANGE HIS PANTS AND VERY DISTINCTIVE ORANGE SHOES BEFORE RETURNING TO COMMIT THE ROBBERY.

ON DECEMBER 19TH JUST BEFORE NOON, A SUBJECT ENTERED THE STORE LOCATED AT 1421 LEESTOWN ROAD AND CASUALLY WALKED AROUND WITHOUT MAKING ANY ATTEMPT TO COVER OR CONCEAL HIS FACE.  HE MADE A SMALL PURCHASE AND IT APPEARS ON CAMERA THAT HE IS WORKING UP THE NERVE TO COMMITT THE ROBBERY.  HE THEN TOLD THE CLERK HE WANTED TO RETURN HIS PURCHASE. AS THE DRAWER OPENED AGAIN, HE PULLED OUT A BOX CUTTER STYLE KNIFE.  HE HELPED HIMSELF TO THE CASH IN THE DRAWER AND FLED THE STORE.

Quality Inn Robberies

THE FIRST INCIDENT OCCURRED IN EARLY DECEMBER.  A FEMALE ENTERED THE LOBBY OF THE QUALITY INN AND DEMANDED CASH FROM THE OVERNIGHT ATTENDANT.  SHE IMPLIED A WEAPON AND WHEN HE CALLED HER BLUFF, SHE FLED WITHOUT ACCOMPLISHING THE THEFT.  SHE RETURNED IN MID JANUARY.  THIS TIME, SHE BROUGHT A HANDGUN.  THE ATTENDANT COMPLIED AND SHE ESCAPED WITH AN UNDISCLOSED AMOUNT OF CASH.

Christmas Card Mail Theft

Just before Christmas, a victim in Lexington mailed out dozens of cards to friends and familiy by placing them in the post office drop box located at Bluegrass Station on Lansdowne Drive. Several of the cards never made it to their destinations. This suspect was caught on camera using a gift card contained inside one of the stolen envelopes
