4/18/2017 - Kroger Purse Snatching and Forgery

ON SUNDAY FEBRUARY 12TH, A VICTIM’S PURSE WAS STOLEN FROM HER CART AT KROGER LOCATED AT 3101 RICHMOND ROAD.  THERE WAS A DELAY IN THE REPORTED THEFT DUE TO THE VICTIM BELIEVING SHE SOMEHOW MISLAID HER PURSE.  DURING THAT TIME, 5 OF HER CHECKS WERE FORGED AND USED AT KROGER AND AT WALMART LOCATED ACROSS THE STREET AT 3180 RICHMOND ROAD.  THE SUSPECTS WERE CAUGHT ON SURVEILLANCE CAMERAS.

IN THE EARLY MORNING HOURS OF MARCH 24TH, A MALE AND FEMALE SUSPECT BROKE INTO CHAMPION PREFERRED AUTO SALES LOCATED AT 2020 LEXINGTON ROAD AND STOLE SEVERAL AIR COMPRESSORS AND SHOP TOOLS OF CONSIDERABLE VALUE.  THEY LOADED THEM INTO A BLUE 2005 FORD F-150 AND FLED.  IT IS BELIEVED SOMEONE WITH INTIMATE KNOWLEDGE OF THE BUSINESS MAY BE INVOLVED.

4/4/2017 - Coin Laundry Thefts

TOWARD THE END OF FEBRUARY AND THE FIRST TWO WEEKS IN MARCH, SEVERAL APARTMENT COMPLEX COIN LAUNDRIES WERE BROKEN INTO AFTER HOURS.  THE INVDIVIDUAL LOCKING MECHANISMS TO SEVERAL MACHINES WERE DRILLED OUT AND THE COIN CHANGE WAS STOLEN.  THE SUSPECT HAS CAUSED THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS IN DAMAGE AND ESCAPED WITH A CONSIDERABLE AMOUNT OF MONEY OVERALL.

3/28/2017 - Laundromat Burglary

ON MARCH 8TH OFFICERS WERE CALLED TO THE BIG BLUE LAUNDROMAT LOCATED AT 2222 COBURN BLVD REGARDING A THEFT.  THE OWNER REPORTED AN UNKNOWN MALE AND FEMALE ARRIVED AT THE BUSINESS AND BROKE INTO A COIN CHANGING MACHINE.  THE CRIME WAS CAPTURED ON SURVEILLANCE CAMERAS.  THERE HAVE BEEN SEVERAL OTHER LAUNDRY BURGLARIES THROUGHOUT THE CITY AND IT IS UNKNOWN IF THE SAME SUBJECT(S) ARE INVOLVED.

 

THE SUSPECT VEHICLE IS A SILVER OR GRAY TOYOTA CAMRY.

3/21/2017 - Valentines Day Hustler

ON FEBRUARY 13TH A VICTIM ON CHESTNUT RIDGE DRIVE DISCOVERED HIS CAR HAD BEEN BROKEN INTO AND SEVERAL ITEMS HAD BEEN STOLEN.  AMONG THE STOLEN ITEMS WERE HIS CREDIT CARDS.   THE FOLLOWING MORNING ON VALENTINES DAY, THE VICTIM’S STOLEN CREDIT CARDS WERE USED TO PURCHASE STUFFED ANIMALS AND A GIFT BASKET FROM KROGER ON TATES CREEK ROAD. THE SUSPECT WAS CAUGHT ON CAMERA MAKING THE PURCHASES.  HE WAS DRIVING A CHARCOAL COLORED NISSAN ALTIMA/MAXIMA WITH AFTERMARKET WHEELS.

3/14/2017 - Malabu Jacks Car Break In

ON FEBRUARY 11TH A VICTIM AND HER FAMILY WERE INSIDE MALIBU JACKS LOCATED AT 3025 BLAKE JAMES WAY.  SHE CAME OUT TO DISCOVER SOMEONE HAD BROKEN OUT HER CAR WINDOW AND STOLEN HER PURSE FROM THE BACK SEAT.  SURVEILLANCE CAMERAS FROM THE SCENE AND NEARBY BUSINESSES CAPTURED IMAGES OF A SUSPECT USING HER STOLEN CREDIT CARDS.  THE SUSPECT VEHICLE IS THOUGHT TO BE A BLACK FORD EXPEDITION OR SIMILAR MODEL.

3/7/2017 - Joseph McDowell Cold Case Homicide

IN THE EARLY MORNING HOURS OF NEW YEARS DAY 2016, A RESIDENT OF ROOSEVELT BLVD FOUND JOSEPH MCDOWELL LAYING IN A DRIVEWAY UNCONSCIOUS AND SUFFERING FROM GUNSHOT WOUNDS.  DESPITE EFFORTS BY RESCUERS AND DOCTORS, HE DID NOT SURVIVE.  INVESTIGATORS HAVE EVIDENCE TO BELIEVE THERE WAS AN ALTERCATION AT A NEARBY GROCERY STORE THAT CARRIED OVER TO ROOSEVELT BLVD WHERE THE VICTIM WAS FOUND.  THERE ARE NO ARRESTS OR LEADS IN THE CASE AT THIS TIME.

2/28/2017 - Horsemans Lane Theft and FraudSOLVED

ON THE MORNING OF JANUARY 23RD A VICTIM WHO RESIDES IN THE AREA OF HORSEMANS LANE CAME OUT TO GET INTO HIS CAR.  HE DISCOVERED HIS VEHICLE HAD BEEN BROKEN INTO AND HIS WALLET AND A VIDEO CAMERA HAD BEEN STOLEN.  HIS CREDIT CARDS WERE USED AT LOCAL AREA BUSINESSES BEFORE THEY COULD BE CANCELLED.  THERE WERE 3 OTHER VICTIMS OF CAR BREAK-INS THE SAME NIGHT IN THAT AREA.  A SUSPECT WAS CAUGHT ON CAMERA USING THE STOLEN CREDIT CARDS.

2/21/2017 - Central Bank Robbery

ON JUANUARY 30TH AROUND 11AM, A SUSPECT ENTERED THE CENTRAL BANK LOCATED AT 3101 MAPLE LEAF DRIVE AND APPROACHED THE TELLERS WITH A KNIFE.  HE WAS DESCRIBED AS MALE BLACK WEARING A BLACK HOODED JACKET, BLACK PANTS, BROWN BOOTS, AND CONCEALED HIS FACE WITH A WHITE BANDANA.  HE WAS ABLE TO ACCOMPLISH THE ROBBERY AND STOLE AN UNDISCLOSED AMOUNT OF CASH.

2/14/2017 - Fox Harbour Burglary

ON THE MORNING OF JANUARY 5TH, A RESIDENT OF FOX HARBOUR DRIVE AWOKE TO FIND HER REAR PATIO DOOR AJAR AND HER WALLET STOLEN FROM HER PURSE.  AN UNKNOWN SUBJECT HAD ENTERED HER HOME THROUGH AN UNSECURED DOOR AND COMMITTED THE THEFT WHILE SHE SLEPT.  THAT SAME NIGHT, HER CREDIT CARDS WERE USED AT MEIJER ON REYNOLDS ROAD AND WALMART ON NICHOLASVILLE ROAD.  THE SUSPECT WAS CAUGHT ON CAMERA.
